Cherries

The star export fruit

Ripe cherries in our San Rafael orchard

Chilean cherries are recognized all over the world, and the Maule Region is at the heart of that story. We grow export cherries of high-demand varieties, caring for every stage from bloom to packing.

Chilean cherries to the world

Chile has established itself as the great cherry exporter of the southern hemisphere, and most of that fruit travels to Asia, where Chilean cherries are a byword for quality. Maule is one of the leading regions, and from San Rafael we are part of that story.

A valley made for cherries

The secret is the Mediterranean climate of the central valley: mild winters that give the tree the chill it needs, dry and luminous summers that concentrate sweetness, and water flowing down from the Andes. Few places in the world combine these conditions.

Season and varieties

Harvest runs from October to February, peaking between late December and early January. We grow internationally sought-after varieties such as Lapins, Santina and Regina, chosen for flavour, firmness and post-harvest travel.

A delicate fruit

Cherries demand special care at every step: hand picking, rigorous selection, immediate cooling and packaging that protects them on the journey. The whole process is designed so they arrive on the other side of the world as fresh as they left the orchard.
